Kenyan international Ryan Ogam has officially been unveiled by Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC, where the club is eager to showcase his talent as early as this weekend. He will be playing under t-shirt number 11.
The Harambee Stars forward completed a summer move to Wolfsberger after an impressive campaign with Kenyan giants Tusker FC. His rise has been rapid, with 15 goals for the Brewers last season cementing his reputation as one of Kenya’s most lethal finishers. Ogam further boosted his profile during the 2024 African Nations Championships, scoring twice in five matches, before adding three more goals in World Cup qualifiers against The Gambia and Seychelles earlier this month.
After weeks of anticipation, the striker finally arrived in Austria to link up with his new teammates. Wolfsberger welcomed him in style, releasing a social media video that teased his arrival by featuring fans from both Kenya and Austria asking where their new star was. The clip ended with Ogam stepping out of a car and introducing himself: “Hi, I am Ryan Ogam, here I am.”
When Will Ogam Make His Wolfsberger Debut?
The club confirmed that Ogam will don the No.11 shirt as he begins his European journey. With Wolfsberger scheduled to face LASK at home on Saturday, September 27, supporters are hopeful that the Kenyan striker will be ready to make his debut.
The timing could not be better for the Austrian side, who are currently pushing to keep pace with the league leaders. Wolfsberger sit fourth in the 12-team Bundesliga table with 11 points from seven games, trailing Rapid Vienna by six points. Ogam’s arrival is expected to inject more firepower into their attack as they look to climb higher in the standings.
For Ogam, this transfer marks a significant step in his career. From his breakout season at Tusker to shining on the international stage with Harambee Stars, he now faces the challenge of proving himself in European football. Wolfsberger fans will be keen to see if his goal-scoring instincts can translate to success in Austria, while Kenyans will be following closely as one of their own takes on a new frontier.
