Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has set another remarkable milestone, becoming the fastest player ever to score 100 Premier League goals.
The Norwegian star reached the landmark on Tuesday night, adding yet another chapter to his already historic career. Haaland hit the century mark in just 111 matches, breaking the long-standing record held by Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, who achieved the feat in 124 games during the 1990s.
Haaland’s decisive strike arrived in the 17th minute against Fulham at Craven Cottage. After narrowly missing earlier when his shot clipped the post, he made the most of his next opportunity, drilling the ball past Bernd Leno to cement his place in Premier League history.
Since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in July 2022, Haaland has delivered goals at a rate rarely seen in English football. His relentless scoring places him ahead of some of the league’s greatest forwards in terms of speed to 100 goals.
Haaland’s Record Puts Him Among the Elite
Arsenal icon Thierry Henry needed 141 appearances to reach the milestone. Former Manchester City hero Sergio Agüero took 147 games, while Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah reached 100 goals after 162 matches.
The goal against Fulham also strengthened Haaland’s grip on this season’s Golden Boot race, lifting him to 15 league goals. He sits comfortably ahead of Brentford’s Igor Thiago and Brighton’s Danny Welbeck, his nearest challengers.
This achievement adds to a growing list of accolades for the 25-year-old. During City’s treble-winning season in 2022–23, he set the record for most goals in a single Premier League campaign, scoring 36 times and surpassing Salah’s previous best of 32 in a 38-game season.
City’s win in West London also helped Pep Guardiola’s squad narrow the gap on league leaders Arsenal to just two points, ensuring the title race remains tight as the season progresses.
