Kenyan forward Ryan Ogam marked his first appearance for Wolfsberger AC as the Austrian Bundesliga side claimed an emphatic victory over Grazer AK.

The Harambee Stars striker was introduced in the 75th minute at the Merkur Arena, coming off the bench as his new club secured a 3-1 win. The result not only sealed three points but also elevated Wolfsberger AC to second place in the Austrian Bundesliga standings.

Ogam, who was officially unveiled by Wolfsberger on September 25, 2025, had completed his transfer earlier in the month. After immediately joining training, he earned a spot on the bench and was handed his debut opportunity in the clash against Grazer AK.

The win leaves Wolfsberger AC on 17 points from nine matches, courtesy of five wins, two draws, and two defeats. They now sit level on points with leaders Rapid Wien, who top the table with a game in hand.

Wolfsberger AC vs Grazer AK: Match Highlights

Wolfsberger started strongly, with Markus Pink opening the scoring in the 19th minute. Grazer AK, however, fought back and found an equalizer in the 43rd minute through Daniel Maderner, sending both teams into the break level.

Pink was replaced at halftime by Erik Kojzek, who quickly made his presence felt by creating chances. His link-up with Matic nearly restored the lead, but Zukic failed to capitalize from close range.

The breakthrough came in the 62nd minute when Alessandro Schopf struck to put Wolfsberger 2-1 ahead. Grazer AK responded with changes of their own, bringing on Chukwu in the 63rd minute in search of momentum.

Wolfsberger’s double substitution in the 75th minute saw Gattermayer and Ukic replaced by Dijaj and Ryan Ogam. The Kenyan striker looked lively on his debut, offering energy in attack as his team pressed for more goals.

The victory was sealed in the 90th minute when Donis Avdijaj netted Wolfsberger’s third, wrapping up a convincing 3-1 win.

Ryan Ogam’s Journey to Wolfsberger AC

Ryan Wesley Ogam’s move to Wolfsberger AC on September 3, 2025, marked a major milestone in his career as he stepped onto the European stage.

The 20-year-old striker’s rise has been nothing short of remarkable. After switching from defensive midfield to a striking role at Tusker FC, he made an immediate impact, scoring 15 goals in just 17 appearances during his debut FKF Premier League season.

His performances on the continental stage further cemented his reputation. At the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), Ogam was one of Kenya’s standout players, scoring crucial goals that helped the Harambee Stars advance to the quarterfinals. His match-winning strike against Morocco, a tournament favorite and former champion, earned him the Man of the Match award and drew comparisons to national team captain Michael Olunga.

Wolfsberger AC president Dietmar Riegler revealed that the club had been monitoring Ogam closely, impressed by both his club exploits and his displays for Kenya. The Austrian outfit views him as a long-term attacking prospect capable of bringing pace, power, and goals to their frontline.

Ogam signed a contract running until June 30, 2028, giving him ample time to grow in the European game. For the young striker, the move represents both a challenge and an exciting opportunity to test his abilities at a higher level of competition.
